Hey,
We had immunizations today. What fun! And it was that darned tetanus shot.
I should have listened when they said it hurt. Not at first. I didn’t realise that they had even taken the needle out until the woman pushed me out of my chair.
It was later when people made you flinch by making you think that they were going to punch you in the arm.
Then it hurt.
And I had the strangest reaction to it.
During Maths I was exhausted, although a lot of other people were so I brushed it off.
And then during Music I started breaking out in a rash along my arms and thighs. And I had this weird taste at the back of my throat that wasn’t like blood, yet still metallic-y.
Finally, on my way to SOSE, I lost my vision in my right eye and had a headache behind that particular eye as well. Now, I wear glasses, and while I was wearing them, it was almost like I was seeing without them. It was all blurry and kind of scary.
I told the school nurse, who rang mum, who was annoyed and worried that I had called. I think I’m heading off to the doctor’s tonight. But the headache moved over to my left eye, and I went home early.
Now everyone is saying that it was because of tension, and I think I was just really hungry, but others think it was the tetanus.
Anyway, back to the actual shot. You should have seen some of my classmates. I’m not being mean, because we all laughed about it later, but this one boy was high. On nerves. He couldn’t sit still and was bouncing. They thought he was about to pass out because of it. Girls were crying and then we were laughing about one of the guys from last year who tensed his muscle as the needle went in, and un-tensed it later and it wouldn’t stop bleeding. It had the desired effect and people laughed.
A couple of other kids were as white as ghosts, which is saying something because most have really pale skin and went super-pale.
Someone started breaking out in a sweat, some people started crying and others had reactions to the needles.
But ,all in all, no one ran away this time, and no one fainted.
No more needles till year 11 or some high number like that! Oh yeah!
Night,
miss[quite ill]happypants.
[PS. This morning fredrick passed on. He will be remembered dearly. And no marvin is back on the job in replacement.]
